NEW -- Check out Steve's contribution to the latest issue of Campus Safety Connection, Security on Campus, Inc's Newsletter.

Steve began his career as a sexual violence prevention educator and advocate as an undergraduate student at Central Michigan University.  As a member of the group S.A.P.A. (Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates), Steve began to learn about the issue of sexual aggression and his place as a man in the movement to end men's violence against women and children.  Under the guidance of his mentor, Stephen M. Thompson, Steve honed his skills as an educator while learning from one of the nation's most influential sexual aggression experts. (To learn more about Stephen Thompson click here.  For more info  about  S.A.P.A. click here).

In 2001, Steve, and three other members of S.A.P.A., walked from San Francisco, CA to Washington D.C. to raise awareness about men's violence against women.  The 3,500 mile trek provided him with the drive to continue working to raise awareness and recruit more people, especially men, to proactively address the issue.

Since then, Steve has lectured to tens of thousands of college students and assisted more than 100 sexual assault survivors.  Steve uses his sense of humor and shares personal expriences to approach topics that are often controversial and always sobering. His ability to help individuals make connections between sexual violence and their personal lives has allowed him to reach even the most skeptical audience. Athletes, fraternity men, police officers, and many other populations have greeted Steve's message with overwhelming enthusiasm. Steve's powerful yet comforting speaking style makes him an effective presenter to a variety of audiences.

WELCOME
"Steve McAllister is a phenomenal speaker who compassionately moves his audiences to a space of awareness and commitment. After hearing his message, I find it difficult to believe that anyone could leave the room without an understanding of the need to confront gender violence."
